Outstanding Service Award
Teaching, scholarly activity, and service are central to the mission of Fort Hays State University. To recognize those faculty members who exemplify excellence in these areas, the University offers a series of awards. Each semester, all Fort Hays State University faculty members will have the opportunity to be nominated by their colleagues for the Outstanding Teaching Award, the Outstanding Scholarly Activity Award, and the Outstanding Service Award.

Cross-Border Educational Excellence Award
Each spring semester, Fort Hays State University selects one individual who exemplifies excellence in contributing to FHSU students’ academic experience in a cross-border partner institution. All FHSU faculty, staff, and administrators resident in China and employed in an FHSU cross-border partnership will be eligible to receive this award.

Faculty Member of the Year
Nominations taken from Outstanding Teaching, Research, and Service Awards; selected by Provost's Council and presented at the Fall Convocation in the month of August of the next academic year by president of the university and president of Commerce Bank.
Edmund Shearer Advisor of the Year
Selected by Provost's Council and presented at the Spring Convocation in the month of May of the next academic year by president of the university and president of Commerce Bank.

Pilot Award
Presented by the FHSU Alumni Association, faculty members are nominated by graduating seniors. A committee comprised of faculty, graduating seniors and alumni select the recipient, who is named at the annual Graduate and Faculty Luncheon.
President's Distinguished Scholar Award
Nominations are made by faculty and the recipient is selected by a committee of past recipients of the award. Presentation of award is made at the Fall Convocation in August.

Navigator Award
Faculty advisors are nominated by the students and the recipient is selected by the Academic Advising Committee. Presentation of award is made at the annual Graduate and Faculty Luncheon. Contact AACE for additional information.
Service Learning Faculty Fellowship Program
A search and screen committee composed of members of the university Experiential Learning Committee, five current and past service-learning fellows and a representative of the Office of the Provost will review applications and provide recommendations to the Provost. Appointments will begin on July 1 and end 18 months later on December 31.

Tiger Leaders Professional Leadership Development Program
The goal of the Tiger Leaders program is to facilitate campus-based leadership development for faculty and unclassified personnel. Participants are selected during the summer by a subcommittee of the immediately preceding program participants.

Closing the Loop Department Award
Closing the Loop recognizes degree program improvements and is based on an analysis of program and student learning outcomes. The winning department receives a monetary award to be shared with faculty members responsible for the work. These funds can be used for valid professional developmental expenses such as travel and event expenses, equipment, and book purchases. Presentation of the award is made at the Fall Convocation.
Adjunct Faculty of the Year Award
FHSU Online Adjunct Recognition program was developed to honor adjunct faculty who provide an outstanding online learning environment. Eligibility is determined based on teaching experience, course evaluations, and the approval of one’s department chair and college dean. Each year, the University recognizes one exceptional adjunct faculty member from each of the five academic colleges: Arts and Social Sciences; Business and Entrepreneurship; Education; Health, Behavioral, and Life Sciences; and Science, Technology, and Math. All five of these adjuncts are honored with a certificate and monetary award and are recognized, alongside on-campus faculty award recipients, at the University's annual Fall Convocation.
