Fort Hays State University operates the Information Enterprise Institute as a specialized center for expanding Information Assurance*, Cybersecurity and information technology education, training, research and consulting throughout Kansas and organizations around the world. The importance of maintaining up-to-date information assurance practices is essential to protecting information systems by ensuring their integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation and providing for detection and reaction measures.
Recognized by the Kansas Board of Regents, the Institute embraces a unique mission and responsibility for Kansas by interfacing with businesses, medical providers, agencies and other organizations globally in a unified effort to safeguard information management and distribution infrastructure.
The Institute is a National Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education, an esteemed recognition based on the quality of faculty, curriculum, student performance, laboratory facilities, industry, and support.
The Information Enterprise Institute supports:
*Information Assurance (IA) -Information Assurance is comprised of measures that protect and defend information and information systems by ensuring their availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. These measures include providing for restoration of information systems by incorporating protection, detection, and reaction capabilities.
