What is Workday?

Workday is an innovative, cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution that combines administrative applications into a unified system, delivered through a flexible, user-friendly interface.

Workday is currently replacing FHSU's Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, and Student Admissions & Recruiting systems, streamlining previous business processes and enabling these functions to communicate seamlessly. Future implementations are also in progress for other administrative systems.

How Workday Affects Me

  • Employee Self-Service: Workday provides employee self-service, so you can change information such as home address, phone, mobile phone, email, emergency contact, W-4 withholding allowances, and payroll direct deposit accounts. You can also view information such as your pay stubs, benefit elections, and tax elections.
  • Timesheets, Travel, & Personal Information: Each employee will use Workday to enter their time worked, request travel, submit expenses for reimbursement, and update their personal Profile information (address, phone number, etc.). Most of these tasks can be completed easily using the mobile app or the Workday portal. You will also be able to view your payslips and employee benefits and manage your account settings.
  • Actions: To view the various activities you can perform in Workday, go to your Profile Icon > View Profile > Actions.
  • Inbox & Reminders: Each employee has an Inbox in Workday where reminders such as Tasks and To Dos will appear. After completion, they are automatically archived.
  • Directory & Organizational Chart: You will be able to view directory information for all employees, as well as a dynamic organizational chart.
  • Training & Resources: Workday Training is provided to all FHSU employees. Helpful resources are also available to empower you as you learn to use the features and functionality of Workday.

Who can use Workday?

All FHSU employees can access Workday after activating their TigerNetID login. This includes faculty, staff, Virtual College instructors, adjuncts, temporary employee, and student employees. Security roles in Workday control what each person can view, what actions can be taken, and where tasks are routed for review/approval.
