Master of Arts in English Programs
English Programs offer a Master's degree to take your studies to a deeper level. Enjoy the flexibility of on-campus or online (synchronous or asynchronous) courses that meet your scheduling and learning needs. 30 hours of coursework and a comprehensive exam will lead to fulfilling your educational and personal goals.
On-campus and online students enjoy the opportunity to work face-to-face with outstanding faculty all year, devoting time to conference papers, individual research projects, and further career discovery. Students practice presenting in front of their classes and leading discussions, preparing them for teaching or further study in English. On-campus GTA positions provide valuable experience in tutoring, teaching, and research, as well as a beneficial tuition waiver.
Summer MA students receive the reading lists for their summer classes in December, take classes on-campus, face-to-face during 4-week summer residencies, and then complete papers and projects by the following December. Dispersing class responsibilities throughout the entire year allows you to complete your degree without disrupting your career in this unique program.
Supplement or complete your degree with online courses throughout the year. Zoom in to live courses to interact in real-time with faculty and fellow students. Or work at your own pace in discussion-oriented asynchronous courses.
