Considering pursuing a graduate degree in History? At Fort Hays State University, you can earn a master's degree from a highly respected program with its roots firmly set in a rich historical landscape. A master's in History is excellent preparation for Ph.D. work or a wide variety of careers. FHSU M.A. programs are available on campus as well as online. Participate in seminars and complete hands-on work for research papers as well as an apprenticeship in the program. Both programs below have thesis and non-thesis options. Student must apply for the Thesis option. Thesis degree-seekers will write a thesis exploring their historical field of interest while non-thesis degree-seekers will take six additional hours of classes. Thesis degree seekers can apply with the department thesis committee after completing nine hours of graduate courses.

Accelerated M.A. Degree in History or Public History
The Program of History’s Accelerated Degree program (Bachelor’s to Master’s) is designed to provide high-achieving undergraduates the opportunity to link advanced undergraduate coursework with graduate coursework for degree completion.
