Resources for Graduate Faculty
Graduate faculty status shall be automatically given to faculty members who meet Higher Learning Commission (HLC) standards, as determined by the appropriate program or department. Department chairs are responsible for notifying the Graduate School of new hires or changes to faculty status (e.g., a faculty member earns the terminal degree).
More information about the Graduate Council and graduate faculty status can be found within the current Handbook for the Graduate School.
Best Practices for Graduate Courses
When preparing a graduate course for approval, the syllabus will be reviewed by the Graduate Council to ensure that the rigor is appropriate for graduate-level credit. We encourage you to review our recommended best practices prior to submissions.
Curriculum Development
The Curriculum Development Toolkit has been created through the Office of the Provost to provide faculty with all the necessary information, forms, and examples needed to develop and/or revise graduate programs and coursework.
