Online Information
Program Eligibility
The Department of Allied Health has established some minimum eligibility requirements for the BS in Medical Diagnostic Imaging. Prospective students must:
- have an Associate's Degree or certificate in Radiography from an accredited program, or must be currently registered and in good academic standing in an accredited Radiography program
- have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 out of 4.0
- hold registry in good standing with the ARRT
Transfer of Credit
If you already hold an associate's degree or certificate in radiologic technology from an accredited program, past coursework may transfer into the program. Once you submit all prior transcripts to FHSU as part of the University's admissions process, a degree analyst evaluates each transcript to determine which courses meet the University's transfer requirements. The degree analyst will then communicate this information to the Department of Allied Health's FHSU Online Coordinator. Then, you will work with your advisor to develop an individualized plan of study to meet all general education and departmental graduation requirements.
Admissions
Unlike most undergraduate programs at Fort Hays State University, you must apply and be admitted to both the University and the MDI program. You will need to complete both applications before enrolling in classes for the first time. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis; there are no application deadlines.
If you plan to pursue a Certificate program rather than the BS degree, you may apply to the University as a non-degree seeking student, which means you do not need to submit transcripts to FHSU. However, you will still need to submit transcripts to the Department of Allied Health to demonstrate you meet the eligibility requirements for the program.
