Global Management Concentration
About the Program
The Master of Liberal Studies concentration in Global Management curriculum focuses on developing the next generation of global leaders. Students interested in this concentration have dual interests in the "human as knower" philosophical component of this degree, as well as a professional interest in development management and communication skills for the corporate environment. You'll gain advanced disciplinary knowledge in business management and communication, and introductory research skills within the global context of the AASCU Global Challenges Concepts.
Program Admission Requirements
In addition to the standard admissions requirements and materials for the MLS, individuals applying for admittance into the MLS concentration in Global Management must:
- Have earned a minimum 3.0 GPA on the last 60 undergraduate credit hours.
- Submit a professional resume.
Program Curriculum
MLS Core Courses: 10 credit hours (required)
- IDS 801: Introduction to Graduate Liberal Studies
- IDS 802: Ways of Knowing in Comparative Perspective
- IDS 803: Origins and Implications of the Knowledge Society
- IDS 804: Information Literacy
Concentration Core: 12 credit hours (required)
- IDS 805: Global Challenges: 21st Century Promise & Peril
- GBUS 802: Management and Marketing Concepts
- MGT 611: Human Resource Management*
- MGT 616: Global Human Resource Management**
Select two courses from the following: 6 credit hours
- COMM 602: Intercultural Communication
- BCOM 601: Managerial Communication
- LDRS 650: Principles of Organizational Leadership
- MGT 601: Project/Program Management*
- MGT 608: Total Quality Management*
- MKT 606: International Marketing*
Culminating Experience: 3 credit hours
- MGT 606: International Business
Total Required Hours: 31 credit hours
