Online Student Scholarships
The Sunflower Start Scholarship is automatically awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to new undergraduate online and graduate students at FHSU. Recipients must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Kansas resident
- File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

To qualify for this $500 scholarship, you must:
- Be a new, fully online student
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who does not reside in the state of Kansas
- Be degree-seeking
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA on cumulative high school or undergraduate coursework
Full-time and part-time students, as well as undergraduate and graduate students, may apply.
Phi Theta Kappa members could receive a $500/year scholarship. Recipients must be new full-time transfer students enrolling fully online. Students who already hold a bachelor's degree, are non-U.S. citizens, or are part-time are not eligible. This scholarship is renewable for a second year with a 3.3 cumulative FHSU GPA. Apply for the PTK Scholarship through the FHSU Scholarship Application, which opens on September 15 of each year and closes on February 15 of each year.
Phi Theta Kappa Kansas All-Academic Team members are automatically awarded a $750/year scholarship. This scholarship is renewable for one additional year with a 3.3 cumulative FHSU GPA.
