Virtual Business, Engineering, and Technology Career Fair - Employer FAQ's
What is the fair?
Meet exceptional, diverse current students and new graduates from Fort Hays State University, Wichita State University, WSU Tech, and Butler Community College seeking employment in business, engineering, and technology-related careers. The students and new graduates are looking for internships, part-time and full-time employment opportunities!
How do I register?
Registration for the fair is available online through Handshake. If you have not yet registered for an employer Handshake account, you will be prompted to create one. The employer registration fee is $200. Once your registration has been approved, you may begin setting up 1:1 and/or group sessions. Setting up sessions is a requirement for participating in the fair. Visit Handshake's Employer Guide to Virtual Fairs for further information on registration and setting up your sessions.
Who is invited?
-Employers looking to hire students for full-time, part-time, or internship opportunities
-Students interested in the business and engineering industries.
What technology do I need to participate in this fair? Is there anything I will need to download?
You will need a webcam or built-in camera and microphone. Chrome and Firefox are recommended browsers. Make sure pop-ups are allowed in your browser. For additional technical support, visit Handshake's Video Requirements & Troubleshooting guide for employers.
The fair runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. CST. Do I have to be present that entire time frame?
You have the option to designate specific times for your 1:1 and group sessions during the duration of the fair. You also have the option to enlist multiple representatives to operate your booth during designated time frames.
What can I do before the fair to engage students?
In order to best engage students prior to the fair, begin posting job and internship opportunities through Handshake and reach out to students through Handshake messaging and campus networks. You are welcome to tag @FHSUCareers on social media.
