SLP Student Organization
At FHSU, getting involved in student organizations is a key ingredient for your successful academic experience. Joining a club related to your major gives you the chance to explore the career field more fully, network with professionals, gain leadership experience and make a difference in the community around you.
NSSLHA
SLP students are encouraged to become members of the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA). This group typically meets once a month, and it gives you a wonderful opportunity to meet other students in the major. The organization participates in a variety of service activities, such as sponsoring the Ellis County Spelling Bee. There are also opportunities to travel with the organization to state and national conventions related to Communication Sciences and Disorders. For more information, contact Ms. Tara Marshall or Dr. Qiang Li, faculty advisors. Be sure to follow FHSU National Student Speech Language Hearing Association on Facebook, where we share news and events about our student organization.
Beyond activities found in Albertson Hall, home to the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, majors become part of many campus-wide organizations, such as Tigers in Service, intramurals or the Student Government Association. For more information about student organizations at FHSU, check out the Center for Student Involvement Web site.
