Due to circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic, we regret to inform you we will be unable to present this year’s Encore Series of events during the fall 2020 semester. Throughout this global health crisis, the university has focused on remaining true to the main goal of ensuring the safety and health of all of our students, faculty, staff and visitors. We simply cannot adhere to this expectation this fall and still deliver a high-quality Encore Series that would meet the standards our audience has come to know and expect.
Because of the quickly changing nature of the pandemic, we will wait until later in the fall to make the most informed decision possible regarding spring events. Please be assured your season ticket seat assignments will be honored for events when we return. Future updates will be sent to current season ticket holders as well as posted on our website and Facebook page.
Thank you for understanding and your continued support of the arts. We look forward to seeing you at shows in the future when we can safely gather once again.

Through the presentation of varied forms of performing arts, the Special Events Committee strives to educate, inspire, invoke thought, and entertain. The goal is to promote artistic expression, cultural understanding, and social awareness at Fort Hays State University and Western Kansas through the presentation of diverse, high-caliber performing arts programs.
Since the inaugural Encore Season in 1981, many world renowned artists, individuals, musicians, and shows have graced the stage of the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center. Award-winning performances range from acapella group M-PACT, Anne of Green Gables: the Ballett, and Broadway musicals such as Bandstand and Finding Neverland. Each season brings a distinct theatre experience to Fort Hays State University and the surrounding Hays community.
All performances are held in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center, inside Sheridan Hall on the FHSU campus. Unless otherwise indicated, all shows begin at 7:30 PM. Ticket information is available at the Memorial Union Student Service Center, by calling 785-628-5306, or by navigating the ticket menu on this website.
