The Post
The Post (formerly The English Post and The Post Parade) is the department's magazine—written, edited, and designed by students as part of ENG 385 (Professional Editing) and sent to alumni and friends of the department. For previous issues, visit the archive.
Voices from the Fort
The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, in conjunction with the English and Modern Languages department and Forsyth Library, extends an opportunity annually to members of the FHSU community for consideration to be included in Voices from the Fort—a Collection Series housed with FHSU Scholars Repository at Forsyth Library. Voices from the Fort consists of recorded readings that are in the U.S. public domain made by members of our community. Readings may include but are not limited to poems, short stories, songs, musicals, and/or historical documents that are in the U.S. public domain.
Locating Public Domain Texts
Below are links to a couple of starting places but ensure the work is part of the U.S. public domain. Forsyth librarians have expertise in locating public-domain texts, but you are ultimately responsible for confirming public domain status. Places to begin searching for public-domain texts include but are not limited to the following online sites:
- Duke Law’s Center for the Study of the Public Domain announces most-recent works entered in the U.S. public domain, as well as other popular text part of the public domain online at https://web.law.duke.edu/cspd/
- Public Domain Information Project—PD Info—announces most-recent songs entered in the U.S. public domain online at https://www.pdinfo.com/
