Wellness Center COVID-19 Operational Policy
Our Fort Hays State University Tigers are strong, resilient and determined to persevere – in whatever they set their minds to accomplish. Our Tiger Wellness Center is here to help you get there, so your physical health can truly match your mental endurance.
Research shows the more active you are, the better you will do academically and professionally. This activity raises your brain wave levels improving your concentration, helping your memory, and ultimately, setting you up for success.
Whether you are an expert of the gym or new to our facilities – students, faculty, or staff – we have programs to help you take your workout to the next level. The Tiger Wellness Center offers group exercise classes free of charge, such as:

We also ask patrons help us create an inviting and safe atmosphere for all. One way of doing this is by following our patron dress code policy.
Group Fitness Classes
The Group Fitness Classes are located in Cunningham Hall 122 and will continue as long as on campus classes are in session, with modified schedules during finals week.

Group Fitness Class Descriptions
Boot Camp: Start your day out the best way possible with a fun, but challenging early morning workout. The class will include lost of variety throughout allowing you to feel challenged, not just individually, but as a fitness class community with a sense of accomplishment at the end of class! Come join the Boot Camp community.
Core & Cardio: A mixture of core-based and cardiovascular movements using various types of exercise equipment. Strengthen your heart and core simultaneously in this quick, but effective, fitness class.
DanceFit: Exhilarating cardio class to hit music using easy to follow choreography in a new and fun format of steps, tricks, and turns.
Fit-30: A quick 30-minute workout over the lunch hour. Come ready to move and fee great in a short amount of time.
HIIT: High-Intensity Interval Training is an exercise technique in physical activity that is performed at maximum effort for short intense periods, followed by short recovery.
Strictly Strength: Build strength, gain muscle definition, increase bone density, and promote weight-loss through the use of dumbbells, resistance bands, and body weight exercises.
Triple Threat: Using an assortment of fitness tools, you'll get a great full body workout at varied levels of intensity, focusing on core, cardio, and strength.
TRX: A fun, exciting, and challenging class that uses body weight exercises to develop strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability simultaneously. It leverages gravity and the user's body weight to complete the exercises.
Yoga: Focus on mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of wellness in this rejuvenating class. The class will also include meditation, relaxation, and mindfulness portions.
Zumba: A Latin-inspired dance-fitness class with cardio-based movements that are easy to follow. Zumba targets the glutes, legs, arms, core, and most importantly, the heart.
