Cybersecurity
Do you think Cybersecurity is an issue for your business? To find out, answer the following questions below:
- What percentage of your employees take a laptop, smartphone, or tablet containing company information out of the office at night or on the weekends?
- Do you have wireless network at your office?
- Do you have a website for your business?
- Is your company dependent on the Internet for its day-to-day operations?
- Would it be disruptive to your business if you lost Internet access for 48 hours in a row during the course of your regular business week?
- Do you handle any sensitive information and store on a local hard drive or in the cloud including financial records, employee personal data, intellectual property, customer information or credit card data?
Did you answer YES to any of these questions? If so, consider reaching out to the Kansas SBDC at FHSU or the Cybersecurity Institute and Technology Incubator (CITI).
The partnership between the Kansas SBDC at FHSU and CITI will help to improve the cybersecurity posture for small and medium-sized businesses through student micro-internships, capstone projects, and faculty consulting.
Things change in your business, but cyber will be an ever-evolving process. Employees come and go, so regular check ups in cyber defense can keep a business on track.
