The goal of the University Archives is to collect, preserve, and provide access to research materials that document the historical, cultural and intellectual experiences of Fort Hays State University. The Archive’s collections include: 

  • Official papers of the presidents
  • Yearbooks, class schedules, and college catalogs
  • Athletic programs, game tapes, and score books
  • University publications
  • Collections of faculty papers
  • Records of various FHSU offices
  • Kansas oral history collections
  • Photographs
  • Scrapbooks
  • Memorabilia

Research Help

Scanning Service

If you are interested in materials in the University Archives but are unable to visit in person, documents and/or photographs can be scanned and electronically delivered based on the following service fees:

  • Low-resolution JPEGs: $0.25 per image
  • High-resolution digital images (JPEGS or TIFFs):  $5.00 per image
  • Service Charge - when staff scans 150+ images:  $25.00

  • Hours: 
    Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm

  • Please help us preserve the collection by respecting the following:
    • All materials are non-circulating and do not leave the Archives
    • Only pencils may be used and will be provided if needed
    • Food and drink are not permitted in the Archives
    • Please speak with staff about the use of cell phones in the Archives
