Requirements of the Online Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy Degree
The Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy is a 120 credit hour degree program. It consists of 30 credit hours of philosophy courses (18 hours of required core courses and 12 hours of philosophy electives). An additional 90 credit hours are required (including the 55-hour general education requirements and 10 hours of a foreign language). The remaining 25 credit hours are "free electives".
Students in the philosophy program are trained by core faculty to fearlessly pursue questions wherever they may lead. Our online philosophy courses provide key learning outcomes and can be integrated into other academic programs such as critical thinking, evaluating values, and interdisciplinary investigation.

Certificates
In the process of completing the 30 required credits, Virtual College Philosophy majors will earn two certificates: the Certificate in General Philosophy and the Certificate in Moral and Political Philosophy. The grade of a C or better must be obtained in each class taken towards a certificate. Also, no more than one course transferred in from another institution can be used towards a certificate.
