We provide on-campus and online Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees, a minor and certificates. Each program features high-quality instruction and engagement in the community. Our Core:
Students must take 22 hours of core courses for the major in addition to 12 hours of subfield courses. Our core includes:

Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Science:
The Political Science Program at Fort Hays State University offers both a Bachelor of Arts degree and Bachelor of Science in Political Science degree. Both degrees require major course requirements, general education courses, and electives totaling a minimum of 120 total credit hours. The Bachelor of Arts degree also requires 10 hours of a modern language, which can be completed within the 120 total credit hours.
Undergraduate Programs (On-Campus and Online)
- Bachelor of Arts/Science in Political Science
To obtain a Minor in Political Science (on campus or online), a student needs 20 credit hours in courses designated as POLS. Please visit with a Political Science advisor or faculty mentor for suggestions appropriate for your academic and professional interests. It is possible to aim all or most of your minor credits toward an area of emphasis in the major (ex: Pre-Law, International Relations). You may also "double dip" general education and minor courses (ex: American Government, Current Political Issues, and/or Introduction to International Relations can count toward both General Education and Minor credits).
