Student Government Association
We, the students of Fort Hays State University, organize ourselves as the Student Government Association for the purpose of serving, protecting, and promoting the interests and rights of the students of this institution. In order to carry out the collective welfare of all the students. We represent the interests of the students to the administrators of FHSU, the Kansas Legislature, and the Kansas Board of Regents.
The purpose of the Student Government Association shall be to preserve the Student Government Association as an effective means of representing students; to provide a constructive line of communication between students, faculty, and administration; to foster student involvement in all campus activities; to enhance the educational, social and cultural experience of all students; and most importantly, to provide an environment conducive to the education of all Fort Hays State University Students.
Senate Application is a way for students who didn't run in the spring to still apply, interview, and be placed on the senate. Applications can be found on our TigerLink page.
Freshman/KAMS/AMS students are also able to be a part of the Senate by applying at the beginning of the Fall semester.
Spring Elections are an opportunity for any student interested in SGA to run in their respected college. The number of seats is determined by the number of students in that college. Intent to run forums will be available starting in the Spring
