Dual Credit Faculty Qualifications
We offer a variety of graduate degrees and non-degree coursework in the most common dual credit subject areas taught in Kansas, as well as the greater Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) region. This allows teachers at all levels to satisfy Higher Learning Commission (HLC) guidelines to teach dual or concurrent-enrollment courses within their school or local college.
This generally requires teachers to have one of the following:- a master’s degree in the subject area you intend to teach dual credit coursework in or
- a master’s degree in any field and 18 graduate credit hours completed in the subject area you intend to teach dual credit coursework in.
Available degree programs in these most common dual credit subject areas include the following: Biology, Chemistry, English, Geosciences, History, Mathematics, Political Science, and Psychology of Learning.
There is also a variety of non-degree coursework available to meet the minimum 18 credit hours past a master's degree. You can explore our course options through using the following resources:
