INF 250 Introduction to Web Development
This course provides the concepts and skills for planning, development, and deployment of web-based hypermedia systems. It covers the use of text, graphics, audio, and video in web environments and the conversion of existing systems to web environments.
INF 651 Front-End Web Development I
This course introduces concepts and practices of web development with client-side scripting languages. Students will learn the basic syntax, structure, and methods of JavaScript and how they apply to the HTML Document Object Model (DOM). This class is designed for students to learn and practice their programming skills in a creative and hands-on manner. At the end of this course, students will be able to develop interactive, front-end web applications.
INF 652 Database Design and Programming
This course teaches students to analyze complex business scenarios, design and create data models and create databases using SQL. Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler and Application Express (APEX) are utilized to provide practical, hands-on, engaging activities. Leveraging project-based learning techniques, students will create and work with projects that challenge them to design, implement, and demonstrate a database solution for a business or organization.

Minimum GPA Requirements
Fort Hays State University follows standard undergraduate admissions requirements for our Minor in Web Development. You'll need a minimum GPA of 2.25 on a 4.00 scale to qualify.
Alternative Paths to Admission
If your high school GPA isn't quite at the 2.25 mark, don't worry! You can still qualify through standardized test scores. Just achieve an ACT composite score of 21 or higher or a combined SAT score (ERW+M only) 1060. FHSU is also a test-optional school, so you can apply without submitting those scores if standardized testing isn't your strong suit.
Transfer Students
Suppose you've already completed some college coursework. In that case, you'll also need a minimum 2.0 GPA on any college credit you took in high school.
