Academic Advising Resources
Use the appropriate checklist below to prepare for your academic advising meeting. All undergraduate students MUST meet with their academic advisor to have their Advisor Approval of Academic Plan Hold released to gain access to register in classes.
- Activate TigerNet ID
- Request official transcripts be sent to FHSU form any college you have attended or taken courses
- Request official ACT or SAT be submitted to FHSU
- Request official Advanced Placement (AP) and/or International Baccalaureate (IB) be sent to FHSU
- Complete action items in your Workday inbox
- Confirm that your major and/or minors are correct in Workday
- Request changes to your major, minor, and certificate if necessary
- Read the advisor/advisee responsibilities and prepare topics and questions to discuss with your academic advisor
- Watch your FHSU email and workday inbox for communication from your academic advisor on how to schedule an appointment
- Determine your registration appointment date
- Register for Orientation
- Schedule your appointment with your academic advisor using Calendly
- Check your FHSU email for instructions
- Check grades in current classes to identify possible issues
- Review your Academic Progress in Workday
- Review your Academic Plan and prepare a list of courses for the next academic period
- Prepare a list of topics and questions for your academic advisor
- Resolve all holds on your Workday account
- Determine registration appointment date
- Schedule your appointment with your academic advisor using Calendly

- (FR) Freshman (1 - 29 credit hours)
- (SO) Sophomore (30-59 credit hours)
- (JR) Junior (60-89 credit hours)
- (SR) Senior (90 plus credit hours)
Lower-division (freshman-sophomore): Up to and including 50 percent completion toward a baccalaureate degree; 0-89 quarter hours or 0-59 semester hours.
Upper-division (junior-senior): Over 50 percent completion toward a baccalaureate degree; over 89 quarter hours or over 59 semester hours.
Note: It is the responsibility of the student to make sure all official transcripts have been provided to FHSU Office of the Registrar.
