Dual Credit Faculty Qualifications
We offer a variety of graduate degrees and non-degree coursework in the most common dual credit subject areas taught in Kansas, as well as the greater Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) region. This allows teachers at all levels to satisfy Higher Learning Commission (HLC) guidelines to teach dual or concurrent-enrollment courses within their school or local college.
Effective as of November 2023, individual institutions are able to set their own standards for dual credit faculty qualifications. You are encouraged to contact college or university you intend to teach through regarding this. Please note that many institutions still utilize the following legacy HLC guidelines for dual credit faculty qualifications:- a master’s degree in the subject area you intend to teach dual credit coursework in or
- a master’s degree in any field and 18 graduate credit hours completed in the subject area you intend to teach dual credit coursework in.
We currently offer 100% online degree programs in these common dual credit subject areas include the following: English, History, Mathematics, Political Science, and Psychology.
We also offer at least 18 credit hours of 100% online coursework in these common dual credit subject areas: Chemistry, Geosciences, and Spanish.
