We provide on-campus and online Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees, a minor and certificates. Each program features high-quality instruction and engagement in the community. Our Core:
Students must take 22 hours of core courses for the major in addition to 12 hours of subfield courses. Our core includes:

Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Science:
Political Science Programs at Fort Hays State University offers both a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. The two may be distinguished by the following criteria:
- Bachelor of Arts degrees require 10 hours of a modern language, with university-required and general education electives summing up to 120 total credit hours.
- Bachelor of Science degrees require 20 hours of Math, Science, and/ or Applied coursework, as well as 11 hours of electives
Undergraduate Programs (On-Campus and Online)
- Bachelor of Arts/Science in Political Science
To obtain a Minor in Political Science (on campus or online), a student needs 20 credit hours in courses designated as POLS. Please visit with a Political Science advisor for suggestions appropriate for your academic and professional interests. It is possible to aim all or most of your minor credits toward an area of emphasis in the major (ex: Pre-Law, International Relations). You may also "double dip" general education and minor courses (ex: American Government, Current Political Issues, and/or Introduction to International Relations can count toward both General Education and Minor credits).
