Beef Division
The beef cattle division includes a designed breeding program with a herd of about 200 animals consisting of composite breed cattle. The Riegel Building is the heart of the beef unit and is named for former farm superintendent Andrew Riegel (1951-71), who was instrumental in significant upgrades to the farm. While providing care for the cattle, students learn about animal nutrition, breeding and gestation processes, and other aspects of beef production.
