Swine Division
The earliest hog sheds were built in the 1950s, and the current farrowing house was constructed in the 1970s. Half of the current herd is made up of registered purebreds; the main market for the animals is show stock or breeding stock. Students in the Department of Agriculture and members of the livestock judging team use the herd for learning purposes, such as breeding and gestation processes and nutrition.
