The Master's of Education in Educational Administration does not require a thesis. Instead, the program of study includes a required research methods course in which you will complete a major research paper, project, or creative work. All graduate courses in a program for a Master's in Education degree must be completed within eight calendar years. For course descriptions, see the University Catalog. All candidates must complete a comprehensive Building Leadership Practicum ePortfolio consisting of a minimum of 150 hours (# of hours can be increased to meet particular states' requirements) of documented clinical work as a part of their final comp exam. For Kansas licensure, candidates must take the Praxis SLLA Exam #6990.
If you already have a master's, you may want to pursue the non-degree endorsement option; apply to the FHSU Graduate School as a non-degree seeking student. A program of study template consisting of 21 required hours is available for your review. *The courses required for your endorsement are indicated above with a single asterisk (*). Feel free to make a copy of the Google doc in order to select your courses. Once done, share the doc with Dr. Moody at ramoody-edl@mail.fhsu.edu for final approval.
**Online: Courses will utilize a number of innovative digital resources including videoconferencing, which requires the use of a webcam.
