Curriculum & Instruction: STEM Education
This program is targeted at elementary or secondary teachers who wish to increase their content and pegagogical knowledge related to STEM education.
Students who are elementary teachers and have an interest in STEM can increase their content knowledge and instructional abilities in these areas. This could also lead to becoming STEM teachers/coordinators to all grade levels in their schools.
Students who are secondary teachers in one STEM subject can take the courses in another STEM subject, and then take the Praxis for that new subject area to get an additional endorsement. This option includes 3 Praxis preparation courses for Chemistry, Physics, and Biology that could be taken as electives for this degree. Students will not only learn more STEM content, but also the pedagogy/andragogy of teaching STEM.
