Certificate in Animal Science
Certificate programs in the Department of Agriculture require 12 or 13 credit hours and are composed of courses specific to an area of study. To obtain a Certificate in Animal Science, students must complete the courses outlined below, and submit the “Intent to Complete a Certificate” form.
- AGRI 214 Principles of Feeding (3)
Choose two of the following:
- AGRI 408 Sheep Production and Management (3)
- AGRI 409 Dairy Cattle Production and Management (3)
- AGRI 411 Beef Feedlot Technology and Management (3)
- AGRI 417 Horse Production (3)
- AGRI 475 Meat Science (3)
- AGRI 610 Beef Cattle Production and Management (3)
- AGRI 611 Swine Production and Management (3)
One course from the following:
- AGRI 313 Anatomy and Physiology of Domestic Animals (4)
- AGRI 615 Genetics of Livestock Improvement (3)
- AGRI 616 Reproductive Physiology of Domestic Animals (4)
- AGRI 617 Animal Nutrition (3)
(All courses applied toward the certificate must be taken for credit and cannot be counted toward more than one certificate.)
Upon completion of certificate requirements, you should receive your certificate in the mail approximately 2-4 weeks from the date of approval.
