FHSU Generative AI Task Force
The Fort Hays State University Generative AI Task Force was established to address the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence in higher education. Our mission is threefold:
- Develop comprehensive policies or guidelines on generative AI use in academics
- Prepare FHSU graduates for AI-driven changes in the workforce
- Engage the FHSU community through education and outreach initiatives
Since our inception in Fall 2023, we've made significant strides in each of these areas:
- Education and Outreach: Organized workshops, conferences, and summits to educate faculty, staff, students, and community members about AI
- Policy Development: Evaluated institutional policies and created initial AI guidelines for FHSU
- Research and Future Careers: Launched innovative AI projects in agriculture, psychology, and education, fostering community partnerships
Our ongoing projects include expanding AI-related courses and certificates, continuing research on AI adoption, and hosting larger events like the AI Institute and Fair.
The GenAI Task Force is committed to ensuring FHSU remains at the forefront of AI integration in higher education, preparing our community for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow.
