Enhance your business skills in the salon with the Business Essentials Certificate! A partnership between Fort Hays State University and Hays Academy of Hair Design to teach you the business basics. This certificate is offered to HAHD students only.
- One Year Certificate
- Four 8-Week Courses - Accounting & Taxes, Social Media Marketing, Personal Finances, & Management Practices
- 1 Credit Hour Each
- Class is Monday Evenings from 4:30-6:30 PM
- Meet On-Campus or on Zoom
Steps to Success
- Apply to FHSU as a Non-Degree Seeking Student here.
- Contact Stacey Smith (slgsmith@fhsu.edu) about enrolling in the Business Essentials Certificate.
- Once enrolled, pay for your courses on Workday for the semester.
- Attend class on Monday nights at 4:30 pm.
- Once you have taken all the classes, submit an Intent to Complete Certificate Form to abs@fhsu.edu and we will get a Certificate mailed out to you!

This course provides a basic overview of accounting and taxation topics relevant to service providers and small businesses with limited retail sales.
