I’ve never attended an education virtual fair and prefer meeting candidates face to face. How will this fair meet my needs?
With FHSU students taking virtual classes and student teaching all over the U.S., it’s difficult for them to get to Hays for an on-campus fair. This virtual fair provides all candidates the opportunity to network with employers while not missing out on the face-to-face interaction. Employers may converse with candidates in a chat room, or visit face-to-face through video. Employers could use the video technology to interview candidates as well!
What are the different ways I may connect with candidates through the virtual environment?
-Your district will have access to an exclusive chat room with the capability for multiple chats allowing for real-time engagement in a group or one-on-one setting.
-Conduct video interviews.
-Conduct video and/or audio broadcasts or screencast presentations to multiple attendees simultaneously.
-Access to search resumes of registered candidates.
-You will have your own profile page showcasing your district. Upload photos, videos, district information, benefits, job opportunities, student teaching information, and more! You have control to post as much as you’d like.
My district has current teachers looking to advance their education. What are the ways they may participate in this fair?
This virtual fair is not only for employment opportunities, but also a chance to connect with representatives of FHSU. Visit the Academic Institutions page to chat with faculty from the Teacher Education Department, Advanced Education Programs, the Licensure Office, Admissions, or Career Services. We are all happy to answer your questions related to furthering your education.
My district has students interested in teaching as a profession. How can they participate in the fair?
Faculty from the Teacher Education Department are eager to visit with your students about the teaching profession. Admissions staff will be available to chat with them as well. Please have your students register for the fair and on the day of the event, they may access the Academic Institutions tab to connect with professionals at FHSU.
I’m not tech savvy. Is there support available to assist with setting up my page?
Yes! You have the option to build your own employer landing page through Career Eco, or have CareerEco do all the work! If you choose to have CareerEco build your page, email all your details to forthays@careereco.com and CareerEco representatives will build the page for you at no additional cost.
Who do I contact if I have technical problems during the fair?
CareerEco representatives will be available to live chat during the fair if you have any questions. Career Services staff will be available during the fair as well.
What technology do I need to participate in this fair? Is there anything I will need to download?
All you need to do is login to CareerEco the day of the fair using Google Chrome or Firefox. You will need a webcam or built-in camera to take advantage of all the multi-media options, such as video interviews.
If I choose to have CareerEco to set up my profile page, what information do they need?
Your landing page will include your logo, available chat times during the fair, recruitment areas, your website and contact information. You may also include a description of your district and any other information you’d like to promote to candidates. You may also share additional photos or videos on your profile page.
The fair runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST. Do I have to be present that entire time frame?
Though the virtual fair runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., you have the option to designate specific hours you will be available to meet candidates online. If you would like your district to be available during the entire fair, you also have the option to enlist multiple representatives to operate your booth during designated time frames.
Are there any training opportunities prior to the virtual fair?
We believe you will find the CareerEco platform very user friendly. There are free informational webinar’s scheduled on how the virtual fair works.
