The Tiger Education Online Fair is designed for:
-Employers and candidates looking to connect for employment opportunities
-Students/alumni looking to further their education and want to connect with the College of Education and Department of Advanced Education Programs
Who is invited?
-Seniors looking for their first career opportunity
-Juniors looking for student teaching placement
-Transition to Teaching candidates looking for teaching positions
-Alumni looking for experienced teaching positions
-Students/alumni looking to further their education
-School districts looking to hire teachers
How do I register?
Registration for the fair is through Handshake. Students may log in and register through Handshake using your TigerNetID. Alumni and transition-to-teaching candidates who do not have a Handshake account will need to create an account at https://fhsu.joinhandshake.com/student_account_registrations/new#/email or email nldinkel@fhsu.edu for assistance.
Once you have registered for the fair, you may begin signing up for 1:1 and/or group sessions with school districts of your choosing. Please continue to check for session sign-up opportunities up to the day of the fair (some employers set up their sessions early, others wait until a day or two prior to the fair). Do you have questions for the Licensure Office? Want to learn about graduate degree options? This virtual fair is not only for employment opportunities but also a chance to connect with representatives of FHSU. We are all happy to answer your questions related to furthering your education.
I’m a junior at FHSU and haven't student taught. Do you still recommend I attend the virtual fair?
Yes! This is your opportunity to connect with schools for potential student teaching placement. Get a great overview of prospective employers for your future employment search. Many of these districts offer great benefits…do your research now! It is highly recommended that juniors sign up for group sessions offered by participating school districts.
Is there a cost to attend the fair?
The online fair is free to students, alumni, transition to teaching candidates, and candidates from other universities.
How do I prepare for the fair?
Whether the fair is on-campus or online, preparation remains the same. Prepare a professional resume, dress professionally, research districts you are interested in working with, and consider interview questions you may be asked. Visit www.fhsu.edu/career/prepare for information on resumes, interviewing, professional dress, and more! Do I need to dress up for the fair?
Yes! Employers will be meeting with you face-to-face through Handshake's video technology. This is a professional event, and professional attire is highly recommended. Don't miss your chance to make a great first impression.
What technology do I need to participate in this fair? Is there anything I will need to download?
You will need a webcam or built-in camera and a microphone. Chrome and Firefox are recommended web browsers. You will log in to Handshake to join your sessions and participate.
