Approval for Admission
You will not be eligible to be officially admitted into the Teacher Education program until you've completed all admission requirements.
Once you've completed all admission requirements, and your major department has indicated that you've met all departmental requirements, your admission materials will be submitted for admission approval by the Council on Preparation of Teachers and School Personnel (COPTSP). You will receive email notification via your FHSU email address once your application has been reviewed and when you you've been officially admitted into the Teacher Education program.
Admission to the Teacher Education program is not based solely on the above criteria. Other factors such as a history of repeating course(s), behavior, etc. can/will also be considered.
Inactivity and Progress Toward Admission
Candidates who, after submitting an Application to Teacher Education, have not taken coursework in a two-year time span, will be required to submit a new Teacher Education Admission Application and meet current admission/program requirements.
