Your Financial Future at Fort Hays State University
Financial Aid Awarding Process for Summer 2025!
** A change for summer 2025: Graduate students can receive financial aid at a part time level of 3 credit hours and a fulltime level of 5 credit hours or more.
- Undergraduate students can receive financial aid at a half time level of 6 - 8 credit hours, ¾ time level of 9-11 credit hours and fulltime level of 12 credit hours or more. Pell grant recipients may have eligibility in 3 credit hours (contact the Financial Assistance Office for more information.)
- Students must have a 2024-2025 FAFSA on file to have financial aid eligibility reviewed. FAFSA’s can be submitted at studentaid.gov and must be submitted by 6-28-2025.
- There is no application required to receive financial aid in the summer. The correct FAFSA submission and course registration are what initiates the eligibility review.
- Students will be reviewed for eligibility within 7-10 days of registering for courses beginning March 15, 2025. Notifications will be made in Workday of the financial aid offer.
- Federal grants and direct loans will be automatically awarded if students have remaining eligibility after the fall 2024 and spring 2025 semesters.
- Students need to be in 6 hours to get Federal Workstudy awarded for a job on campus.
- If you do not have any eligibility, you can check into alternative loan funding options below:
