Henry Schwaller IV is a business owner, educator, and public servant with a strong background in economic development, public policy, and entrepreneurship. He earned both his Bachelor of Science in Business and Master of Business Administration from the University of Kansas, where he graduated with honors. Schwaller's early academic experience also includes time at Fort Hays State University as part of a gifted students program. His dedication to leadership and service has been evident throughout his career, spanning business management, higher education, and civic engagement.
Schwaller has served as a Senior Lecturer in Management and Entrepreneurship at Fort Hays State University since 2000, where he develops and delivers coursework focused on practical business applications. In addition, he is the President of Henry Schwaller and Associates, Inc., a property management firm he successfully restructured for profitability and growth. His prior professional experience includes roles as Marketing Director at The Franklin Mint, Senior Research Analyst for Kansas Inc., and Research Associate at the University of Kansas' Institute for Public Policy and Business Research, where he contributed to state economic development strategies.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Schwaller has been involved in public service and community leadership. He served multiple terms as Mayor and City Commissioner of Hays, Kansas, and has held key positions on boards such as the Kansas Court of Appeals Nominating Commission, Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission, and Downtown Hays Development Corporation. His commitment to civic and cultural development has had a lasting impact on local and state-level initiatives.
