Corporate Communication Concentration
Goal-oriented and audience-centered communication is essential in all areas of business practice. Executives and managers need to effectively communicate in oral and written forms with customers, clients, and colleagues to engage in complex decision-making processes, implement change, and build positive and sustainable relationships. Additionally, the ability to communicate strategically with external stakeholders is necessary for managing organizations’ reputations and navigating their role in local and global economies.

BCOM 601G: Managerial Communication
The purpose of this course is to develop management-level personnel who can effectively and efficiently use the various modes of communication as administrative tools. Coverage of the managerial aspects of business communication and the role of management in facilitating more effective internal and external business communication.Choose two from the following:
BCOM 673G: Problems in Business Communication
The student will work directed problems related to a field of business communication.BCOM 690G: Professional Development
The focus of the course is on creating a professional development plan. Students investigate current trends in career planning and dealing with organizational change. Graduate students must complete additional assignments.
BCOM 692G: Managerial Reports & Presentations
Designed to develop an in-depth knowledge of the functions of reports and presentations in con- temporary business. Using real-world business situations, students will conduct business research and analyze data to prepare professional managerial reports and make presentations of these reports using presentation software.
BCOM 695G: Corporate Communication
This course has three major themes: 1) management of communication; 2) internal communications or communicating with employees; and 3) external communications or public relations. Specific objectives are established for each of them. In this course students will participate in team projects. Graduate students must complete additional assignments.
