General Education Mobile (GEM) Program
With a global presence; service members and their families are acutely aware of the many unexpected changes that come with military life. As such, Fort Hays State University is committed to today's Air and Space Professionals and their educational goals.The General Education Mobile (GEM) program is an initiative between the Air University of the U.S. Air Force and civilian higher education institutions. The purpose of the GEM partnership is to offer general education courses needed to complete an Association of Applied Science (AAS) degree through CCAF. In short, GEM points Air and Space Professionals who are working towards their AAS degree from the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to colleges and universities that provide approved general education courses in an online format.

Academic Calendar
Academic calendars are available for each semester and provide important information on class start and end dates, drop and withdrawal deadlines, and registration information. Spring and fall terms have both 16 and 8-week course options available. The summer term is 8 weeks.

Online Student Services & Resources
We provide a multitude of services for online students, such as free online tutoring and writing lab; FHSU Tiger ID cards; Career Services; Career Exploration; Technical Support, and software purchasing. Students can run for seats on the Online Student Senate, and students with specific GPAs are invited to join the Fort Hays Honor Society and/or the National Society of Leadership & Success. Online students can sign up for faculty-led and study abroad trips, and once you graduate from FHSU you can travel to campus and walk at Commencement!
