Jesus Christ Superstar coming to FHSU
HAYS, Kan -- The five-time TONY Award nominated Rock Opera turned Broadway musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" is showing at Fort Hays State University at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in the Beach Schmidt Performing Arts Center. Starring as Jesus is the Golden Globe nominated best actor and best newcomer Ted Neeley.
"Jesus Christ Superstar," written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, takes a different approach of interpreting the St. John's Gospel story of the final seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth. "Superstar" dramatizes Jesus' entry in Jerusalem, the conflict caused by his preaching and popularity, his betrayal by Judas, the trial before Pontius Pilate and his ultimate crucifixion. The performance will feature notable songs such as "Superstar," "Everything's Alright" and "I Don't Know How to Love Him."
Tickets are available now at the FHSU Student Service Center in Memorial Union.
