MLK Jr. essay contest winners announced
HAYS, Kan. -- The Office of Diversity Affairs at Fort Hays State University announced and awarded the winners of the 2010 Martin Luther King Jr. Essay and Poetry contest at the recent Candlelight Celebration.
Jami Bouray, Superior, Neb., sophomore, was awarded first place; Tianna Sanderson, Hays senior, was awarded second; and Bill Allen, Wakefield senior, was awarded third.
The theme for the essays was "Courage to Build a Community of Social Justice." The award winners received a plaque at the candlelight celebration.
