Sternberg Museum to host family carnival; volunteers needed
HAYS, Kan. -- In a first for the children's Discovery Room of Fort Hays State University's Sternberg Museum of Natural History, the Family Carnival will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 28.
"It's for kids of all ages," said Thea Haugen, Discovery Room manager. "If the adults want to play, they can too."
Games and events will revolve around a natural history theme. In conjunction with the upcoming exhibit "SuperCroc," children can hunt for eggs in the Crocodile Egg Hunt and enjoy different activity booths or take part in the cakewalk. Game prizes will be given away, and a concession stand will be available.
In order to make the event a success, volunteers are needed to work game booths or sell tickets. If unable to work the carnival, volunteers may bake cakes, pies or cookies for the cakewalk and concession stand. Monetary donations to help buy game prizes are also appreciated.
