FHSU alumnus to present petroleum seminar for Chemistry department
HAYS, Kan. -- Fort Hays State University alumnus Gene Schmidt will present a seminar titled "Forensics of Petroleum Hydrocarbons" at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, April 26, in Tomanek Hall, room 108.
He retired from Amoco Corporation, where he worked as the director of groundwater and soils management services in the environmental affairs and safety department. Schmidt now works as a consultant through his firm GW/S Environmental in Tulsa, Okla.
Schmidt holds an A.B. in geology from the University of Missouri, a B.S. and M.S. in chemistry from FHSU and an M.S. in geochemistry from the University of Tulsa.
