Bank of Hays Donates $30,000 to Picken Hall Project
HAYS, Kan. -- The Fort Hays State University Foundation has announced that Bank of Hays pledged $30,000 to the Picken Hall renovation project.
"FHSU is an integral part of this community and one of the reasons why we are continuing to enjoy economic stability," said Randy Walker, president of Bank of Hays. "The Bank of Hays wants to do everything possible to support the university and other community activities and we feel like the renovation of Picken Hall is a worthwhile project."
Once renovated, Picken Hall will house the offices of the Registrar, Admissions, Financial Assistance, Academic Advising, Student Fiscal Services, Kelly Center and Graduate School.
Walker started Bank of Hays five years ago with John Clarke, chief financial officer, in conjunction with a group of local investors. Clarke is also a member of the FHSU Foundation board of trustees.
A 45-percent tax credit is available for minimum contributions of $5,000 to the Picken Hall renovation. With donations at designated levels, donors can also have their names attached to spaces such as office suites, individual offices, conference rooms and lobbies.
