Posters portraying democracy on display in Forsyth Library
HAYS, Kan. -- "Democracy Through Expression" is the theme the Fort Hays State University's American Democracy Project has selected for the 2010 art exhibition in Forsyth Library throughout April.
The exhibit features interpretations of democracy by FHSU graphic design students through posters titled "Thoughts on Democracy." More than 80 posters were created by the History of Graphic Design class in fall 2009, and 40 were randomly selected for "Democracy Through Expression."
The exhibit also features a reinterpretation of "The Four Freedoms"by artist Norman Rockwell, the 20th-century American painter and illustrator best known for The Saturday Evening Post covers.
The ADP is a program to encourage students to become more civically engaged at their college or university.
