FHSU fraternities, sororities celebrate membership
HAYS, Kan. -- The Fort Hays State University fraternity and sorority community not only celebrates its membership, but also finds ways to give back to the community. This is exactly what members did recently during Greek Week.
The Air Band Lip Sync Contest raised $274 for the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research. A charity pie auction was also held during the week, at which local volunteers were pied in the face by the highest bidders. Exactly $455 was raised for the United Way of Ellis County. In addition, $1,272.30 was raised throughout the entire week through a penny war competition between the chapters. All of this money went to the Ellis County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
