FHSU leadership class to host H.O.P.E golf tournament
HAYS, Kan. -- As a way to assist a small town in need, a Fort Hays State University leadership class will host a golf tournament on Saturday, April 17, at the Ellis Country Club in Ellis. The tournament will begin with sign-in at 8 a.m. and will tee off at 9 a.m.
The Help Our Past for Ellis H.O.P.E. golf tournament is the kickoff event for the New Hope for Mount Hope campaign for Ellis' Mount Hope Cemetery. The purpose of the tournament is to raise funds for the cemetery's major projects. Plans are to improve the cemetery by building a columbarium, erecting a burial registry and developing a baby island and scattering garden in the cemetery.
In order to register a team, each of which includes four participants, contact Kelly Beisner at the Ellis Country Club at (785) 342-2570. Fees are $40 per person or $160 per team. Lunch is included in the registration fee. Golf carts are not included in the fee but are available for an additional charge on a first-come-first-serve basis.
