Area students accept FHSU scholarships at recognition program in Kansas City

HAYS,Kan. -- Several area students accepted Fort Hays State University scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year at a recent Student Recognition Program in Kansas City.
The Kansas City SRP recognized students from Johnson, Allen, Anderson, Atchinson, Bourbon, Doniphan, Douglas, Franklin, Leavenworth, Linn and Miami counties.
Anderson County High School
Morgan Parker accepted a $1,200 Miller Black and Gold Academic Award and a $900 Academic Opportunity Award in psychology.

Parker, daughter of Ralph and Rebecca Parker, Garnett, plans to major in psychology.
Baldwin High School
Sam Cooper accepted a $1,200 Miller Black and Gold Academic Award and a $900 Academic Opportunity Award in political science.

Bishop Miege High School
Brian Perry accepted a $900 Academic Opportunity Award from the College of Business and Leadership and an $800 Hays City Silver Academic Award.

Maria Solis accepted a $4,000 Access to Academic Opportunity Grant, a $900 Academic Opportunity Award from the College of Business and Leadership and a $500 Copper Academic Award.

Joshua Williamson accepted a $1,200 Miller Black and Gold Academic Award and a $900 Academic Opportunity Award in physics. Williamson also won the drawing for a laptop computer.
