FHSU Mortar Board raises $1,148 for the Reading Recovery Program
HAYS, Kan. -- Fifteen Fort Hays State University faculty members and one Student Government Association officer participated in a dunk tank fundraiser sponsored by Mortar Board on Friday, April 30.
The dunk tank raised $870 with an additional $278 in donations for a total of $1,148 donated to the Reading Recovery Program in Hays.
The Reading Recovery Program is a short-term, early intervention literacy program designed for young readers who are at risk of failing to read and write. The goal of the program is to enable the lowest achieving learner to make accelerated progress, catch up with grade-level peers and profit from regular classroom instruction.
