FHSU hosts premiere Kansas painter
HAYS, Kan. -- The Moss-Thorns Gallery of Art will host one of the preeminent painters in Kansas, David Kinder. The opening reception, which features 37 paintings, is part of the annual Spring Gallery Walk, from 7 to 9 p.m., on Friday, April 30. Kinder's paintings will be on display until June 3.
According to the Garden City Community College Cyber Sillhouette, Kinder has earned numerous awards, including drawing and best of show categories in the annual Sandhills Art Association exhibitions. Several of his paintings have been included in the Kansas Artists Postcard Series, a prestigious annual competition sponsored by the Association of Community Arts Agencies of Kansas.
The Moss-Thorns Gallery of Art is located in Rarick Hall, room 102, and is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Summer hours for the gallery, effective May 24, are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
