FHSU printmaking students exhibit works in art shows
HAYS, Kan. -- Four Fort Hays State University students recently had works accepted for exhibitions in Kansas and Colorado.
At the Kansas Collegiate Aesthetics Exhibition in Lindsborg, works by Angela Aeillo, Topeka junior; Joshua Knott, Lincoln, Neb., graduate student; and Trey Morgan, Hays graduate student, were accepted for exhibition. Knott received the Merit Award for one of his works. Awards are given to entries by the show's juror, or judge. In addition to this honor, Knott has also been accepted into the prestigious Tulane University in New Orleans, La., for graduate study in painting and printmaking.
Aeillo, Knott, Morgan and Nicholas Schlitter, Hayssenior, will have their works shown at the 10th Annual National Small Print Show in Creede, Colo., which will take place May 28 to June 29. One of Schlitter's awards will be exhibited as a special traveling exhibit.
Gordon Sherman, professor of art and design, said Schlitter's piece will accompany the show as it tours through a few towns in Colorado.
